Abstract

This paper presents results of experiments towards investigating  the influence of cutting conditions on cutting force during turning of low carbon steel. In this study, the 3k factorial design of experiment and response surface methodology, a powerful tool, is used to optimize the process parameters for effective turning. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) is employed to investigate the relative influence of cutting speed, feed and depth of cut on the cutting force & feed force respectively. Full Article
