• This paper presents an experimental investigation of the influence of cutting conditions on cutting force during turning of low carbon steel. In this study, the factorial design of experiment, a powerful tool, is used to optimize the process parameters for effective turning. 3k factorial design and analysis of variance (ANOVA) is employed to investigate the influence of cutting speed, feed and depth of cut on the cutting force & feed force respectively.
